Introducing Boomer son, Rhett aka MOTCh Brassfires Little Bit of Jazz SH WCX is out of Brassfire’s Mustang Sally, MNH and is owned and loved by Gary and Shelley Overs. Rhett has acquired an impressive array of titles so far and is on the hunt for even more. This year Rhett and Gary will be concentrating on getting a Master Hunt title and working on legs towards his GMOTCh.

Jazz won the Golly G’s Golden Futures trophy in honor of CH BARGELLOS GOLLY G’s LOUISE CD, SH, WC at the Potomac Valley Golden Retriever Club.
The purpose of this trophy is to recognize the top junior dog or bitch for outstanding achievements in at least two areas of endeavor and to encourage well-rounded participation in multiple areas of activity. This award is designed to recognize young, talented, multipurpose dogs, but not to push them beyond their growth and physical development.
Her owner reports that Jazz is about to enter her in her first senior tests this month! We have no doubt she will do it with style.
The picture to the left shows Jazz, her trophy and various ribbons she garnered for the six titles she completed last year – Way to Jazz it up!

Mr. Toad’s Wild Ryde – possibly the coolest dog name EVER
Stanley Steamer son Ryder aka MACH2 Emberain Mr. Toad’s Wild Ryde UD RE XF JH WC lived up to the Wild Ride part of his name in 2010. Ryder started off the year on the right foot (paw) earning his MACH on January 3, 2010 and finished the year off with a bang earning his MACH 2 on December 18, 2010!
Teri L. Chang has been raising Goldens for Guide Dogs of America for the last 11 years and decided to take a break to get a Golden that she could train from the beginning vs retraining one that had been taught to go around obstacles. She tells us that Ryder has taken her through many firsts….her first competitive dog, her first venture into field and her first Utility dog to name a few. Ryder is a very sweet and sensitive dog who is very serious about his work. His first year of competing, he earned 11 titles in 3 venues. Teri says she is always amazed at how easily he switches gears between venues and is always ready to go. ” His only limitation is me! He has taught me so much and because of him, I’m a better handler!”
Ryder is out of MACH Emberain E Ticket Ride MH WCX *** OD and was bred by Edwina & Ed Ryska. In addition to being an amazing working dog also has passed his health clearances: he is OFA Good, elbows normal, eyes clear and cardiac certified.
We wish Ryder another “Wild Ryde” in 2011.
Something About Bob
We originally posted about Stanley daughter, Bob aka MACH 6 Rivercity Yessiree Bob VCD2 TD CDX MXF TQX FTC ADHF, back in January here.
Since then Bob has expanded her already impressive array of titles by finishing her Fast Century Title last weekend. This means she has accumulated 100 qualifying runs in the excellent fast class. Bob is the second golden retriever to complete this title and one of less than 10 dogs of any breed to do so.
